This year, the 27th<\/sup> FEHOVA, the greatest gathering of the hunters, anglers and nature-lovers of the Carpathian Basin, was concluded with over 50 thousand visitors. Nearly 300 exhibitors were present in the two pavilions of the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center, including the biggest manufacturers and distributors, to present their products and services. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this opening speech, Zsolt Semj\u00e9n<\/strong> spoke of the reasonable and realistic gun law, the\nestablishment of a new hunting law and the World Hunting Expo to be hosted next\nyear in Hungary. The Deputy Prime Minister<\/strong> and President of the\nHungarian Hunters\u2019 Association felt they managed to establish a gun law that\ndoesn\u2019t affect the hunters, sports marksmen or arms collectors, yet still\nsatisfies European Union requirements. In relation to the World Hunting Expo,\nhe added that the government would provide the funds necessary for \u201cthe grand\nhosting of the exhibition\u201d. Furthermore, he added that the event is a sensible\ninvestment from the perspective of the tourism industry and national economy\nconsiderations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Agriculture Istv\u00e1n Nagy<\/strong> explained that the ministry would like everyone in\nthe country to develop a respect and love for nature, therefore they will be\ndevoting special attention to environmental schooling and the appropriate\nsupply of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zolt\u00e1n Kov\u00e1cs,<\/strong> governmental commissioner for the hosting of the\nWorld Hunting and Nature Expo and the related series of events, explained that\nthey are preparing a series of attractions for the event scheduled to take\nplace between 25 September and 14 October 2021, providing an opportunity for\nall hunting and angling organizations to introduce themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the exhibition\u2019s opening\nceremony, G\u00e1bor Ganczer, CEO of<\/strong>\nHungexpo Zrt.<\/strong> spoke, amongst other things, of how Hungexpo is hosting\nits exhibitions at the usual high level of quality during the ongoing\nrevitalization works, including one of the most important events, FEHOVA, which\nhas been attracting tens of thousands of visitors for years. <\/p>\n\n\n

As customary, the National Chamber of Agriculture <\/strong>hosted its conference entitled \u201cThe\ncurrent issues of wildlife management\u201d<\/strong> on the first day of the\nexhibition, featuring regional development, forestry and wildlife management\nexperts, including President of the Chamber Bal\u00e1zs Gy\u0151rffy, P\u00e9ter Zamb\u00f3r, the\nMinistry of Agriculture\u2019s state secretary for forests and lands, Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 J\u00e1mbor,\nPresident of the Hungarian Hunters\u2019 National Chamber and P\u00e9ter Bajdik, chief\nsecretary of the Hungarian Hunters\u2019 National Chamber. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conference participants received information on the\nlegislative changes effecting wildlife management, the introduction of the new\nhunting card and the impact of the domestic appearance of African swine fever\non hunting. Rich\u00e1rd Bors, managing director of One with Nature Nonprofit Kft.\nalso spoke about the current issues of the 2021 World Hunting Expo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors could discover a range of novelties at the\nseason-opening event of hunters and anglers. There was a great deal of interest\nin the presentation entitled Hunting trophies within and outside of the\ncountry<\/strong>, the commemorative exhibition on <\/strong>hunter-writer Istv\u00e1n Fekete<\/strong>, who passed away 50 years ago, as\nwell as the display of the favourite arms of the 84 year-old B\u00e9la Hidv\u00e9gi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screening hosted by the Takar\u00e9k Group was also a\nhighly popular event, where visitors had a chance to see the biographical\ndocumentary film WILDLIFE \u2013 in the footsteps of Count Zsigmond Sz\u00e9chenyi<\/strong>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second time this year, the International Open\nTaxidermy Competition took place at the FEHOVA exhibition (with the involvement\nof Magyar Vad\u00e1szlap and ETC), where participants could enter with the mounts of\nmammals, birds and fish. The competitions \u201cbest in show\u201d award was won by Bohdan\nVasiliev\u2019s<\/strong> black bear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As usual, this year\u2019s event again featured the French\nHorn Festival<\/strong> (on the hunter stage on Saturday), concurrently with the VII Youth\nFrench Horn Solo Competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most popular attractions at FEHOVA was the IX\nFEHOVA International Troating Championship <\/strong>Cup, which was won this year\nby Zolt\u00e1n B\u00far<\/strong>, the 2019 European Champion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers again staged spectacular and engaging\nattractions for the anglers at three different venues \u2013 the Giant Aquarium, the\nAngler Stage and Show Pool<\/strong>. Many came looking for the new Energofish boat\nfeeders displayed in a pool built for this purpose and over the course of four\ndays a great number of people visited the Show Pool, where anglers received\nuseful angling tips and tricks from top experts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MOHOSZ Angling School for children and exhaustion\nsimulator again proved to be highly popular attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors had a chance to meet the members of the World Champion female angling team, the World Champion men\u2019s feeder team as well as the members of the World Championship silver medal boat angling team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VIII FEHOVA-MEOESZ International Winterdogshow\n(CAC, CACIB) took place simultaneously to the FEHOVA exhibition, where the\nmembers of the jury evaluated hundreds of our four-legged friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next year\u2019s FeHoVa \u2013 Fishing, Hunting and Arms International\u00a0Exhibition\u00a0will take place between 11-14 February 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
