The greatest industrial muster of the region grew with the same degree as the performance of the Hungarian industry over the last five years. This year, four pavilions hosted 562 exhibitors from 20 countries at the MACH-TECH \u2013 Industry Days 2019 collection of international industrial trade exhibitions at Hungexpo from 14-17 May. Over 18 thousand visitors attended the event.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In comparison to the Visegr\u00e1d Countries and Romania, Hungary produced\n the most rapid growth of 30 percent in industrial performance since \n2014, said the Ministry for Innovation and Technology\u2019 s (ITM) Minister \nof State for Economic Strategy and Regulation Dr.<\/strong> L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Gy\u00f6rgy<\/strong>\n at the exhibition\u2019s opening ceremony. According to the Minister of \nState, the Hungarian economy is more stable and resistant than in 2010, \nyet the most important factor of growth is Hungarian creativity and \ndiligence. The well-functioning investment-incentivizing system of the \ncountry played a key role in the spread of industry, along with the fact\n that Hungary has a developed infrastructure compared to the regional \naverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to maintain the industry growth rate, the government and \nparticularly, the ITM, has defined seven strategic trajectories which \ninclude the support of Hungarian micro, small and mid-size enterprises, \nvocational training and infrastructural development. Additionally, they \nare set to establish a university-level incubator ecosystem, providing \nopportunities for Hungarian SMEs to establish ties with corporations and\n international markets. Vocational training and adult learning will be \nshaped in a way that the training systems will respond to the challenges\n of the 21st century labour market, said the Minister of State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening event, CEO of Hungexpo Zrt. G\u00e1bor Ganczer<\/strong>\n said that the 32% increase in exhibitor numbers (compared to the event \nin 2017) \u2013 this year, 562 exhibitors from 20 countries attended the \nevent in Budapest \u2013 is the joint success of the organizers and the \nindustrial performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For years, both concerning its number of exhibitors and visitors, the MACH TECH <\/em>\u2013 Industry Days co-exhibitions<\/em> has been the biggest industrial event and the most significant industrial business event of Hungary<\/em><\/strong>,\n featuring all the sectors involved in industrial digitalization and the\n spread of INDUSTRY 4.0: from designers of control system to robot \nmanufacturers as well as electronics and logistics firms. The solutions \noffered by INDUSTRY 4.0 presented by the exhibitors again received \nexceptional attention, particularly the developmental trends of \nautomation and industrial electronics, intelligent machines \ncommunicating with one another (M2M), self-adjusting manufacturing \nprocesses and highly effective mass production methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The breakdown of exhibitors changes year after year, yet there<\/em>\u2019s\n a clear trend: there is a sharp increase in the share of companies \npresenting robot technologies and exhibitors presenting machine control,\n corporate governance and logistics software.<\/em> This year, 562 exhibitors displayed 1,100 tons of machines in the four Hungexpo exhibition halls<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Professional Events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition organizers again placed a great deal of emphasis on \nprofessional events. From the range of these attractions, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology<\/em><\/strong>\u2019s Industry 4.0 National Technology Platform Conference<\/em><\/strong>,\n focusing on the subject of artificial intelligence, received particular\n attention. The presenters included such prestigious experts as \nProfessor John Montgomery of the Indiana University (USA) and Fazel \nAnsari, the Deputy Head of the Research Group of Smart and \nKnowledge-Based Maintenance, who talked about the \u201cself-healing\u201d \nprocesses of artificial intelligence-based machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a great deal of interest in the other conferences and round\n table discussions related to the exhibition, featuring themes such as \n3D printing, workplace security, pressure equipment, the railway vehicle\n industry and anti-pollution solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two international delegations visited the collection of exhibitions, \nas organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba and the \nCzech-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features, Novelties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As customary, the Grand Prix<\/strong> awards for the most \noutstanding industrial innovations of the year were again presented at \nthe event\u2019s opening ceremony. The Grand Prix competition featured \nsubmissions from companies offering some form of novelty or innovation, \nincluding products, services, processes and technologies from their \nrespective branches. The submissions were reviewed by a jury of \nprofessionals, who presented a total of 7 Grand Prix awards, 4 Special \nAwards and 9 Certificates amongst the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of Grand Prix developments were on display at the \nexhibition. Many visitors stopped to survey the heavy-duty fibre laser \nmachine of EPL-TECH Kft., the five-axis simultaneous grinding centre of \nOptimum Hung\u00e1ria Kft., the LINDE welding machine, the modular \nmanufacturing device of M+E Szersz\u00e1mg\u00e9p Kereskedelmi Kft., the \u201cSmart \nProduction Plant\u201d of TRUMPF Hungary Kft., the metallic powder \nmanufacturing simulation software of Varinex Zrt. or the unique electric\n screwdriver of the German Wiha company, yet perhaps the most successful\n was the six-axis KUKA Coaster of KUKA Hung\u00e1ria Kft. The next generation\n “roller-coaster\u201d presented a new field of application for industrial \nrobots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Competitions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition also featured the customary Techtogether-GTE-MACH-TECH<\/strong>\n event, the competition of higher education engineer students, which \nfeatured 15 teams this year, with a total of 60 students from the \nUniversity of Debrecen, the ELTE Savaria University Centre, the John von\n Neumann University GAMF Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, \nthe \u00d3buda University, the University of Pannonia, University of P\u00e9cs \nFaculty of Sciences, the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University and the University \nof Szeged. This year, the competition was won by the Arrabona Racing Team of Gy\u0151r.  <\/strong>The\n BME Motorsport team won the second prize, whilst the third place was \nshared by the Pannon R\u00e1ja Solar Boat Team and the Szombathely G\u00e9p\u00e9sz #1 \nteam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another unique feature of the exhibition was 11th Forklift Cup<\/strong>\n competition hosted by Linde Anyagmozgat\u00e1si Kft. Forklift operators from\n all over the country came to attend the competition, where they put \ntheir skill and knowledge to the test. Thanks to the positive feedback \nof recent years, over 220 applications were received for this year\u2019s \nevent. The winner was Bal\u00e1zs Bozs\u00f3 (G-sis Integrations), with \nImre Juh\u00e1sz (KUKA Hung\u00e1ria Kft.) taking second place and Attila Geleta \n(Aluk\u00f6nigstahl Kft.) in third place. <\/strong>They will collectively represent Hungary at the international Forklift Championship – hosted in September in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
