The event was set-up in three event halls: the exhibition took place on 13 thousand square meters in hall G and F, with 270 exhibitors&nbsp;from 40 countries participating. The forum was organized in Hall A in 7 conference rooms. Furthermore, a large area was separated for meeting spaces, offices and for the International Media Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some 4000 delegates from 125 countries converged on\nBudapest for the event, which was opened in the presence of Viktor Orb\u00e1n, Prime\nMinister, Hungary under the broad theme of&nbsp;<em>Innovating together;\nconnectivity that matters<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Forum convened an influential global audience\nspanning governments, key ICT industry players, regulators, international\norganizations, high-growth SMEs, consultants, academia, media and more \u2013\nincluding Euronews, who moderated the Forum Summit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ITU Telecom World 2019 Budapest\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3OpX_Imyi0s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With over 270 exhibitors, including more than 150\nSMEs, and 20 sponsors and partners from over 40 countries, the exhibition\nshowcased technologies from 5G, satellite, e-waste management, robotics,\nblockchain, Smart ABC (Smart AI, Banking and Cities), smart agriculture, smart\nhomes, climate change mitigation, fintech and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National Pavilions&nbsp;highlighted talent,\ninnovation, investment and partnership potential from countries around the\nworld and include the host country&#8217;s Hungary National Pavilion, showcasing\nestablished tech companies, start-ups, universities and incubators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\t<div class=\"block-iframe\">\n\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\"\n\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/my.matterport.com\/show\/?m=r8VhY1y7vbW&#038;urlparent=https%3A%2F%2Fhungexpo.splendex.dev%2Fen%2Fwp-json%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fevent_venue_refs%2F18262\"\n\t\t\theight=\"500px\"\n\t\t\twidth=\"100%\"\n\t\t\tframeborder=\"0\"\n\t\t\tmarginheight=\"0\"\n\t\t\tscrolling=\"no\"\n\t\t\tmarginwidth=\"0\">\n\t\t<\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The event wrapped up with Internet Generation Day, a\ncarefully curated programme of interactive workshops, demos, competitions,\nguided tours, company presentations and more, especially designed for\nuniversity students, young entrepreneurs and innovators from Hungary and the\nregion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The appointment of the event contractor company was selected through an international public tender process six months before the event by ITU. Hungexpo successfully participated in the tender and was awarded as the general event contractor of ITU Telecom World 2019. &nbsp;The scope of the contract &nbsp;included the construction, set-up and dismantle of turnkey stands, signage &amp; branding elements, show management services, provision of exhibitor services for participants, IT &amp; utilities services, cleaning and carpet laying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hungexpo.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/alapr..png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is alapr..png\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>During the one-week build-up period 29 turnkey stands (530sqm), 23 workstation (92sqm) and 3 x20sqm office suites were built by Hungexpo. In addition 6 &nbsp;(size of 50-360sqm), totalling 920sqm custom-made stands were constructed by the team. &nbsp;The 180sqm &nbsp;Innovation Space and a 150sqm Business Matchmaking Zone was also set-up in the exhibition area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is a great honor and pride for us that HUNGEXPO\nhas once again been chosen as the venue and general contractor for ITU Telecom\nWorld Conference after the successful 2015 event. The success of the forum and exhibition this year can be attributed to the fact, that the work among the three organization\nteams of the ITU, the Ministry of Foreign\nAffairs and Hungexpo had not simply been a traditional customer-service provider cooperation but\nmore of a true, smooth-operating partnership\u201d\nsaid G\u00e1bor Ganczer CEO of Hungexpo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3, Minister of Foreign Affairs announced at the closing ceremony of the event that the government has decided to start negotiations to let Hungary host all ITU events between 2023 and 2026.
